Students must obtain a C grade in each required general education and core course. If a C grade is not obtained, you will be required to repeat the course.
ATI is a required fee upon entry into the Nursing program. It will be utilized in all theory classes, skills classes and clinical.
To be successful and safe in this program, students must meet the minimum requirements for English language proficiency (high intermediate at minimum, with advanced level preferred). Students who do not meet these requirements can get help by enrolling in FVTC’s [Intensive English program](https://www.fvtc.edu/global-education/learn-english).
Criminal activity reported will be communicated to healthcare agencies which provide student clinical and internship opportunities. Healthcare agencies have the legal right to deny a clinical or internship experience based on crimes committed. Completion of your program cannot be guaranteed if your criminal history precludes you from completing any clinical or internship experience.
Even though you will be admitted in to one of the nursing programs upon completion of the above requirements, you will not be eligible for core nursing courses until you show completion of a Nursing Assistant (DHFS approved) class to staff in Room E121 on the Appleton campus.
You will be required to complete a Certified Criminal Background Check prior to enrollment into internship or clinical experience. Do not submit these records until you are asked to provide them to your instructors.
There is an estimated wait time of up to one term AFTER your admit term to enter occupational specific courses; while waiting to start occupational specific courses, you may choose to take general education and elective courses required for your degree or diploma program.
Students will be required to electronically submit clinical documentation, which includes immunizations, when accepted into core courses.
The Nursing Skills course is offered in Oshkosh and Appleton; this is the only core LPN course offered in both locations.
