Financial support is available for eligible current Fox Valley Technical College students experiencing unexpected financial expenses. The following simple application gets the process started.

Grant Criteria

Please see below for further criteria for the Emergency Financial Support and Seeds of Hope Fund grants.

Emergency Financial Support

We know it can be difficult to balance work, home and school. When any unexpected emergency comes up, we may be able to help.

Eligibility Criteria

Students must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible:

  • Meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 degree credit hours during the academic semester

  • Have completed 6 credit hours of study 

  • Be admitted to an eligible program of study and enrolled in classes required for graduation 

  • Have Pell Grant eligibility in the term for which the funding is requested

  • MUST submit an application to request funds, and written proof (such as a bill, receipt, etc.) identifying the nature and amount of the expense as well as the 3rd party to whom this amount is owed

  • Utilities 

  • Housing/Rent

  • Unanticipated Medical/Dental expenses

  • Vehicle Repairs

  • Public transportation/bus pass

  • Child/ Dependent Care

  • Gas

Ineligible Expenses
  • Tuition 

  • Fees

  • Books

  • Legal fee

  • Tobacco

  • Alcohol

  • Entertainment expenses

  • Food/Meals

Process

After completing the Financial Challenges form, the results will be sent to the Financial Challenges Funding Processors for review. The student will be notified via email within two (2) business days about next steps which may include meeting with our Financial Wellness counselor to discuss the situation and connect with community resources.

Seeds of Hope Fund

The Seeds of Hope Financial Assistance Fund was established to support financial needs of current Fox Valley Tech students. The fund, which is managed by the FVTC Foundation, is designed to assist students with a financial shortfall to pay for educational or personal expenses.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Must be a currently enrolled student 

  • Must submit an application to request funds 

  • Must meet with Financial Wellness Center representative 

  • This is a one-time grant that does not have to be repaid

Eligible Expenses

The Seeds of Hope Financial Assistance Fund is designed to assist students with a financial shortfall to pay for educational or personal expenses such as, but not limited to: 

  • Medical

  • Family needs

  • Transportation expenses or repairs

  • Occupational requirements such as certification examinations upon program completion, tools and uniforms

Process

After completing the Financial Challenges form, the results will be sent to the Financial Challenges Funding Processors for review. If you need temporary assistance with food, we’re here to help. The FVTC Food Pantry is located in the Entrance 11 hallway (Room E105) at the Appleton campus.

To receive assistance, you must show a current student photo ID and be a currently enrolled student.
