High School Academies

Fox Valley Technical College High School Academies are designed to provide motivated students with program specific pathways to earning a credential. Students will take classes at the Fox Valley Technical College Campus, benefiting from FVTC's advanced equipment and instructors, while also earning high school credit.

Eligibility: Prospective students must be in good academic standing and meet FVTC program requirements. Parental and high school approval is required for a student to be accepted into the program.

Payment Responsibility: It is the responsibility of the student/family and school district to determine, prior to the class start date, who is responsible for payment. If payment responsibility is not established as part of the agreement, payment responsibility will default to the student and family.

Automotive Youth Education Systems (AYES)

Explore hands-on, high-demand career opportunities in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair.

Earn up to 16 college credits while still in high school (4 credits per semester)
Obtain a Maintenance and Light Repair diploma after 4 semesters
Location: J. J. Keller Transportation Center (Appleton Main Campus)
Start date: September 3, 2025
Class times: Monday, Thursday & Friday, from 12-3 p.m.
Deadline: Apply by April 1 for priority consideration

Automation

Automation has become the key to success in many industries. There is a growing need for qualified people to build, program, service and maintain automated and robotic systems.

In this academy pathway, you’ll learn and develop mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, programming, troubleshooting and robotic skills. You’ll then learn how these skills are integrated to develop automated systems and how to control the systems with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

This academy pathway provides you with the opportunity to earn an FVTC certificate and a technical diploma while still in high school. These credentials are valued by employers. All the credits apply to your choice of two associate degree programs when you continue your education at FVTC after high school.

Earn a minimum of 26 credits over 2 years
Earn the Industrial Maintenance Foundations Certificate
Start date: August 25, 2025
Location: Appleton Main Campus
Class times: Year 1 (12:30 - 3:20 p.m.); Year 2 (8:30 - 11:20 a.m.)

University Transfer Degree

The University Transfer Degree Academy is a unique opportunity for high school seniors to jump-start their college journey. This affordable program allows students to earn 27 transferable college credits while still in high school, saving time and money on their path to a degree. Students will experience college life on campus, learn from full-time instructors, and gain the skills and confidence needed to succeed in higher education. At just $5,500, the Academy offers an accessible and transformative academic experience for motivated students.
