Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) welcomes international students! We offer a fully-accredited Intensive English Program, as well as over 200 Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees and programs to choose from, with excellent 2+2 credit transfer to 4-year universities. To make it easier to fulfill the requirements for international education, we've grouped them into three initial steps.

Application Deadlines

Step 1: Apply for Admission

Step 2: Provide Documentation

Upload required documents using the FVTC Applicant Home.

1. Passport Copy
2. Receipt of $100 Application Paymment | International Payments | U.S.A. Bank Payments
3. Student Signature Page
4. Original or certified copies of high school completion, transcripts or mark sheets

Students currently in their final year can submit a letter from a school official indicating the expected date of graduation.
Special note: applicants currently enrolled in a U.S. high school must also submit:
- Copy of Visa
- Copy of ALL issued I-20s or DS-2019s

5. English Examination

All students are required to submit one of the following OFFICIAL English Proficiency Examinations.
- TOEFL Academic Program Entrance Minimum: 70
- IELTS Academic Program Entrance Minimum: 6.0
- Duolingo Academic Program Entrance Minimum: 105

Applicants with post-secondary education

3. Applicants with Dependents (only complete if you are planning on bringing your dependents with you)

A dependent is defined as a spouse or child (under the age of 21).
Please submit a Passport copy for all eligible dependents.

Financial Certification

Submit a Declaration of Finances and Supporting Documents

In order to study in the United States as an international student, you must document that you have sufficient financial resources. You must prove that you have enough funds to cover all the costs associated with your first year of study. This budget includes tuition fees, housing, books, and other living and miscellaneous costs.

As an international student you will need to have your financial institution provide a certification that you have the amount required available and from a reliable source. International students should not expect to work to cover the costs of their education in the United States.

After You Receive Your I-20

If Fox Valley Technical College accepts you and you provide the required financial certification documents you will be sent an I-20 form. The I-20 verifies your eligibility to apply for an F-1 student visa. All embassies and consulates require interview appointments to issue a student visa. Interviews for a visa may take a long time to schedule. PLAN AHEAD. Bring all important documents with you to the interview.

Transferring to Fox Valley Tech?

Students who are currently studying in the U.S. in F-1 that would like to transfer to Fox Valley Technical College must complete all of the items in Steps 1, 2 and 3, AND:

Copies of all I-20's issued
