About Rayon: Rayon Brown currently serves as Vice President for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion and Regional Operations/CDO. This encompasses Diversity & Inclusion Services, Regional Centers, Oshkosh Riverside Campus, Global Services, Tribal outreach, and Affirmative Action.

Brown joined FVTC in 2004. Before being named Chief Diversity Officer in July 2020, he held various positions at the College including Director of Diversity & Inclusion, Manager of Multicultural Student Services, Intercollegiate Athletics/Student Life Coordinator and Student Life Recreation Assistant. In 2014, he served as the Director of the Brother-to-Brother program, an initiative designed to increase retention rates of students of color at the College.

Active in the community, Brown chairs the Ryan Community Board of Directors and co-chairs Imagine Fox Cities. He serves on several other boards and planning committees, including the NACCE Mentoring Council, Community Health Action Team (CHAT), POINT Action Groups, Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity, Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley.

Brown earned an Associate degree in Marketing from FVTC and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee. He earned his Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership & Administration from Concordia University in Mequon.

Shannon Gerke Corrigan

About Shannon: Shannon Gerke Corrigan currently serves as FVTC’s Registrar and a Co-Title IX Coordinator. Shannon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from North Central College and a Master of Science in Student Personnel Administration from Concordia University-Wisconsin. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership with a focus in Higher Education at Capella University. She also serves as a member of the Higher Learning Commission’s Peer Review Corps.

With 20+ years of higher education experience, Shannon has served in various roles at multiple institutions, including student housing, student leadership development, civic engagement, student governance, and employment services. Shannon has a strong passion for the student conduct process, assessment, and the legal aspects of higher education.

About Therese: Dr. Therese Izzo Nemec joined Fox Valley Technical College in 1998 as an instructor in the Social Science and Supervisory Management departments.  Therese has held various roles during her tenure with FVTC including both Adjunct and Full-time Faculty, Department Chairperson, Associate Dean, and her most recent position as the Director of Instructional Excellence and Title IX Co-Coordinator. Therese has extensive training experience on instructional excellence, student success, sexual harassment/misconduct, and relationship skills for the workplace. Prior to joining FVTC, Therese was the General Manager and HR Manager for a jewelry company with both wholesale and retail divisions where she specialized in human relations.

Therese is very active in both her FVTC and greater Appleton area communities where she has served on several non-profit and religious organization’s boards, often leading and participating in initiatives related to equity and inclusion and serving those in need.  She was one of the founders of the FVTC Seeds of Hope organization that provides emergency funds to assist students in need.  She also leads FVTC’s United Way committee. 

Therese earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work/psychology from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin – Stout in career and technical education/psychology, and a Ph.D. in leadership from Marian University in Wisconsin.  Therese also holds many specialized certifications in human relations related topics.

About Dan: Dan Squires serves Fox Valley Technical College as the Manager of Counseling and Support Services. In addition, he is our Americans with Disabilities Act/504 Coordinator. Dan has 11 years of experience in higher education accompanied by a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from the University of North Dakota, and Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from UW-Eau Claire. Dan is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Substance Abuse Counselor as well as a Board Member for Apricity, a local residential treatment provider.

Dan began his career with FVTC as a Counselor in the Counseling and Advising Department on the Main Campus. He moved into a management role in 2016. In his current role, Dan manages the areas of the college responsible for prevention and support of mental health concerns among students, creating assistance and accommodations to students living with disabilities, and career counseling. Dan believes that students can be successful when their efforts are paired with the right goals, support, and access to all aspects of their College experience.
Prior to Dan joining the Fox Valley Technical College team, he spent 12 years working in County Mental Health, Private Outpatient Drug and Alcohol treatment, and at a non-profit serving children and families. Additionally, he spent three years at the University of North Dakota teaching courses to undergraduate students.

About Jayme: Jayme Bowman currently serves as the Director of Safety, Security & Risk Management at Fox Valley Technical College and provides College-wide leadership to ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors. Jayme conducts Title IX investigations, student code of conduct enforcement and investigations, and harassment/discrimination investigations.

Jayme began her career in Security Services at Fox Valley Technical College in May 2011. Prior to her role as our Directory of Safety, Security & Risk Management, she served in various other capacities such as Director of Security Services, Security Manager, and Security Coordinator.

Prior to joining Fox Valley Technical College, Jayme worked as a Parking Control Officer, Boat Patrol Officer, Police Officer, Computer Forensic Investigator, and Metro Drug Investigator.  Jayme received the 2007 Police Officer of the Year Award and 2008 Life Saving Award.  Jayme has over twenty years investigating a variety of incidents and over thirteen years in management.

Jayme received her Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Fox Valley Technical College, a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Human Development from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay, and a Master’s Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from Lakeland University.

About Derek: Derek Reiter currently serves as the Manager of Security Services at Fox Valley Technical College and provides College-wide leadership to ensure safety of students, staff, and visitors. Derek conducts Title IX investigations, student code of conduct enforcement and investigations, and harassment/discrimination investigations.

Before employment at Fox Valley Technical College in Aug. 2015, Derek worked nearly 12 years as a law enforcement officer. While at the police department, Derek served as the department’s Professional Police Communications Instructor, Member of the NAMI Crisis Intervention Team, and Abatement/Chronic Nuisance Coordinator.

Derek is a certified AVERT (Active Violence Emergency Response Training) Instructor and Naloxone Administration State Certified Trainer for Fox Valley Technical College.

Derek has received his Associates Degree for Criminal Justice through Fox Valley Technical College and is in the process of finishing a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication through Lakeland University.

About Beth: Beth Spiering joined Fox Valley Technical College in 2022 and currently serves in the Human Resources and Learning & Talent Development department. Beth partners with employees on development and coaching, and is passionate about connecting employees to the mission and culture. Prior to joining Fox Valley Technical College, Beth started her career in higher education in student admissions and recruitment, before transitioning into Human Resources in Recruitment and Talent Acquisition. She has a variety of HR experience with training, HR policy, employee and labor relations, and organizational development. Beth received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communication with an emphasis in Spanish and Global Studies, and her Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Human Resources.

About Hannah: Hannah Westphal joined Fox Valley Technical College in 2020 and currently serves as Strategic Human Resources Manager. Westphal manages employee relations and labor relations for the College. Prior to joining Fox Valley Technical College, Westphal started her career in human resources in a variety of roles and industries within the Fox Cities area. Westphal has served in the community as SHRM Fox Valley VP of Marketing and Public Relations and as a member of the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board. Westphal received her Bachelor of Business degree with an emphasis in Human Resources from University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh.

Location: Appleton Main Campus

About Thong: Thong Xiong is a Scholars for Success Manager in the Diversity & Inclusion Services department managing a student caseload to help them overcome barriers to succeed academically, socially, and mentally. Providing an inclusive environment for all students, staff, and faculties to create a family atmosphere for all who attend and visit the campus. Thong conducts college visits with BIPOC students in the community as well as provides training on diversity and inclusion throughout the campus and community.

Before joining the Fox Valley Technical College family in June of 2019, he was a team leader in the United States Marine Corps for 8 years. As a team leader, he provided QPR training, physical training, Marine Corps Martial Arts training, and artillery training for all Marines under his charge.

Thong is an alumnus of Fox Valley Technical College with an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education. He received his Organizational Leadership Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay with an emphasis on public and nonprofit management. Thong is currently enrolled at Lakeland University to obtain his Master’s Degree in Leadership and Organizational Development.

About Terleen: Terleen Cheslock, joined Fox Valley Technical College in 2016 and currently serves a Strategic HR Manager. Terleen leads and facilitates HR programs and strategies to support employees in departments and divisions through collaboration with all HR functions. She is a consultant to business leaders on talent matters, including employee and labor relations, organizational effectiveness, leader effectiveness, organizational design, and learning needs/opportunities.

Prior to joining Fox Valley Technical College, Terleen worked in the manufacturing sector in both union and non-union environments. Terleen also serves as an adjunct instructor for the Human Resources program, she is a WI State SHRM Council Board Member, UW-O Alumni Board Member, and past President for the Association of Talent Development.

Terleen received her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies from UW-Oshkosh and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Development and Behavior from Silver Lake College in Manitowoc.

About Jennifer: Jennifer currently serves as a full-time instructor in the Legal Studies/Paralegal program. She also serves as a Title IX Hearing Advisor for Fox Valley Technical College. She earned her JD ('10) from Western Michigan University - Cooley Law School, her MS ('14) from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, and Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management ('20) from the University of Wisconsin Stout.

Jennifer has 10+ years of combined experience in law, higher education, and Title IX. Prior to her current role at Fox Valley Technical College, Jennifer brought her legal experience to the table and served as an Associate Dean of Students at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. In this role she served as the Clery Coordinator; Title IX Deputy Coordinator; and adjudicated high level student conduct.

Jennifer is very active with her campus community and serves on a variety of committees across campus Including: Title IX Committee; Diversity and Inclusion Committee and Animal Use and Testing Committee. Jennifer was also elected to the Fox Valley SHRM Board to serve as the Vice-President of College Relations (22-24).

Mental Health Counselor

Location: Appleton Main Campus

About Kadihjia: Dr. Kadihjia Kelly, a licensed therapist currently has her own practice in Appleton, Wisconsin. She has been employed by FVTC as a mental health counselor since 2018. Her expertise when working with self-identified Black/African American clients focuses on critical race theory and racial battle fatigue. She currently facilitates the Black Women support group in the Fox Valley. She has her bachelors in Social Work, masters in Community Mental Health counseling, and her doctorate in Philosophy of Education in Leadership and Administration. Her dissertation focus was on African American Freshmen Students and their experiences with curriculum and environment at Predominantly White Institutions.
