Student Email & Office 365 Login

Login Instructions:

Username: Your username for signing in to your Office 365 email is your nine-digit FVTC ID number followed by "@fvtc.edu" (example: 123456789@fvtc.edu).

Password: Your password is the same password you use to log into your MyFVTC Account or Blackboard.

If your admissions application was accepted and you are a degree-seeking student, you were issued an FVTC email address, which was included with your application acceptance letter for any full and part time degree programs. If you don’t already have your password, you’ll be prompted to choose one the first time you log in.

Username: Your username for our sites is your nine-digit account ID number followed by "@fvtc.edu" (example: 123456789@fvtc.edu). Our sites do not allow you to sign in with your email address—you must enter your username. If your computer or web browser automatically populate your email address on our Sign in page, please select the lower option to "Use another account" where you will be prompted to enter your username. Failure to use your username for our sites may result in the error "AADSTS50020: User account example@example.com from identity provider example.com does not exist in tenant 'Fox Valley Technical College'...".

FVTC email is the official source for college announcements and college business (such as Financial Aid information). You are responsible for checking your email on a regular basis.

Each semester you are enrolled in classes as a degree-seeking program student, you will receive a $25 allowance for course-related printing and copying. You can use this allowance to print or copy on any student-accessible printer on campus.

Wireless Network

Wireless internet access is available at all FVTC campuses, regional centers and training centers. This network is provided for public access including guests, students, and personal devices. It requires no password.

Upon joining FVTC-Public, your device will automatically launch an FVTC Guest Portal website, indicating Connection Successful.

What is MyFVTC Account?

Use your MyFVTC Account to search and register for classes, view grades, change addresses (mailing or email), phone numbers and update other personal information. Use your nine-digit student ID and password to log in to this system.

Find your ID and/or Password

If you forget your Student ID or password, don't worry. Click the Forgot ID or Password link. Then just follow the instructions. If you need assistance, you'll see our email and phone number in the upper right corner of your screen.

What is Blackboard?

Blackboard is a web-based learning environment used to enhance on-campus learning and/or to deliver distance-only learning (online courses) by posting course materials, class discussions, assignments and assessments on the Web.

Accessing Blackboard

When you register for a course that is designated Hybrid or Online, the FVTC system automatically creates an account for you in Blackboard. Your username will be your student ID and your password will be the same password you set up for your MyFVTC Account.

Protect Yourself: Tips to Avoid Email Scams

  • Trust your gut. If an email seems odd, trust yourself. 
  • Seems too good to be true. It probably is. 
  • When in doubt. Throw it out. 
  • Watch for time deadline pressures. Most scams add “end of day” or “you’ll lose access very soon” to make your worry you’ll miss something. 
  • Consider the sender. Do you have business with this person needing an immediate response? Or why would they be contacting you? 
  • Consider the address. Does the email address have odd characters, spelling errors, foreign countries listed? 
  • Skip the email link. Avoid email links. Go directly to the college website, bank or bill pay site instead, and log in. 
  • Check the wording. Misspellings, grammar errors and poor wording are clues. 
  • Take a deep breath. Come back to it later. Sometimes the extra time will help you realize it’s fake. 
  • Email is easy to spoof. Just because it “says” it’s from one person, doesn’t mean it actually came from them.
