Infant and toddler professional caregivers play a vital role in the respectful, responsible and reciprocal care of the youngest children in an early childhood setting. Upon successful completion, you’ll be awarded a certificate and prepared for the Infant Toddler credential from The Registry, Wisconsin's Recognition System for the Childhood Care and Education Profession.

Students will synthesize the information from the previous courses and demonstrate mastery of the competencies through the completion of a portfolio.     This 3-credit course explores infant and toddler development as it applies to an early childhood education setting. This course focuses on children's development from conception through thirty-six months (3 years). This course includes training for Wisconsin Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care certification.

    Focuses on caring for infants and toddlers in center based and family child care settings. Materials will cover program quality, philosophy, structure, environments, health and safety, developmentally appropriate practice, and inclusion/diversity issues.

    This 3-credit course will examine the role of relationships with family and community in early childhood education for children from birth to 8 years of age. In this course, students will complete the Strengthening Families Training.
