Chris VanderHeyden joined the District Board in 2018. He is the recently retired Superintendent of Schools for the Menasha Joint School District, a position he held since July of 2013. His education experience spans 35 years as a high school math teacher, a pre-K-12 school principal, superintendent, coach, and advisor.
VanderHeyden’s community involvement includes membership and leadership roles with the YMCA, St. John’s Parish, Menasha/Neenah Knights of Columbus, Fox Valley Warming Shelter, Menasha Rotary, and WIAA Advisory Board. He also coaches youth baseball in Menasha and drives a bus for Lamers.
His post-secondary education includes a Bachelor’s degree from UW-Eau Claire, a Master’s degree from UW-Superior, and an Education Specialist Degree from UW-Madison.
VanderHeyden and his wife, Kim, have three children, Melissa, Brandon, and Sarah. They currently live in the Village of Harrison.
