Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver

Hours: 24.00

Increases an Open Water Certified diver’s knowledge and experience by discussing and performing five dives under the instruction of a certified dive instructor. Dive topics will cover five of the following types of dives; Deep, Underwater Navigation, Public Safety Diver, Dry Suit, Full Face Mask, Search and Recovery, Night or Peak Performance Buoyancy. Divers completing this course will receive a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification card.

PADI Equipment Specialty for the Public Safety Diver

Hours: 8.00 | Estimated Cost: $125.00

This course teaches the student how to properly clean and store dive equipment. Students will learn to identify worn and/or malfunctioning equipment and how to maintain/repair user-serviceable parts. This course will teach students what equipment needs to be sent off to a certified technician. Most equipment utilized by public safety dive teams will be covered in this course. Students are encouraged to bring diving gear to class. This course does not provide any specific manufacturer repair technician training. This course provides both academic and hands on experience in maintaining scuba equipment. Certified scuba divers will receive the PADI Equipment Specialist certification.

PADI Ice Diver Specialty Certification for the Public Safety Diver

Hours: 16.00 | Estimated Cost: $160.00

The PADI Ice Diver course covers the planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of ice diving. It covers site selection, preparation and hole cutting procedures. Special equipment, safety lines, signals, communication, line tending and line securing techniques will be discussed and utilized during training. The effects of cold, emergency procedures and safety-diver procedures will also be covered. Divers must be advance open water certified or equivalent and have a completed medical form. Divers completing the course will receive the PADI Ice Diver Specialty certification.

Public Safety Dive Team Leader Training

Hours: 8.00 | Estimated Cost: $75.00

This course presents team dynamics, training, equipment, policy, and procedures that are commonly accepted by the dive industry and apply to Public Safety Diving. Dive operations will be discussed and adapted to fit into the NIMS Incident Command System. Forms are reviewed, as well as documentation of incidents and training for department records.
