Admissions

Skills Assessment

An academic skills assessment is required for admission into this program or the following: High School GPA of 2.75 or higher (last 10 years) OR provide completion of associate’s or higher degree OR; 165 or higher on your 2014 series GED tests OR; ACT OR SAT OR Accuplacer OR Companion OR Compass (last 3 years) to waive to the general education level; The cost of the Accuplacer assessment is $15; Catalog #: 94100100; Learn more at www.fvtc.edu/Assessment.

Additional Information

By starting in fall, a minimum of 5 semesters will be required to complete this program. If you are starting in spring, you will be able to register for general education and limited technical studies courses; however, program specific technical studies courses will not begin until fall semester.

Tools will be provided for students to use while on campus.

This program may require professional licensure or certification; FVTC has determined that this program meets professional licensure requirements in the state of Wisconsin; however, FVTC has not determined if this program meets professional licensure requirements for other states.

  • Repair plastic and composite body parts
  • Replace moveable automotive glass
  • Replace non structural panels and parts
  • Straighten collision damaged sheet metal

Accreditation

This program is certified by the ASE Education Foundation. ASE accredited programs ensure that the automotive collision repair education is upheld to the highest quality learning standards set by industry experts. An ASE accredited program also prepares students for achieving Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) technician certification. Faculty who teach this program are ASE certified professionals.

Credit Transfer Options

Whether you’re an incoming student, transferring to another two-year college or pursuing your bachelor’s degree, we make it easy for you to seamlessly transfer your credits. With full accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission, we offer credit transfer agreements with more than 65 two-and four-year colleges.

Transfer In

Many students come to Fox Valley Tech with credits they’ve already earned, either while in high school or at other colleges and universities. It’s also possible to be granted credit for career-related knowledge and skills you’ve already mastered.

Transfer Out

Is a four-year degree in your future? Save time and money by starting here. You can earn your associate degree at Fox Valley Tech, then apply your credits toward a bachelor’s degree. Or easily transfer your credits to other two-year colleges.
