NOW ENROLLING IN VARIOUS AGE GROUPS

The Parent/Child Center (PCC) is located at the Appleton campus and is licensed for 96 children, ages 6 weeks through 5 years year-round, and 6-9 years old during summer only. We provide for the educational, social and physical needs of the children, while also providing a learning experience for college students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program.

The PCC is a nonprofit organization providing quality child care and preschool programs. The center is state-licensed by the Department of Children and Families.

General Requirements

General Enrollment Requirements

  1. Children must be between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years
    School age care (summer only) - ages 6-9 years 
  2. Preference is given to students and faculty/staff of FVTC who need full-time care for their children
  3. Remaining openings will be available for students and faculty/staff of FVTC who need part-time care for their children
  4. Children from the community who need full- or part-time care can fill any remaining openings

Staff Qualifications

The center is staffed by professional child care personnel who either have an associate degree or are pursuing a bachelor's degree. Staff members are highly trained, experienced, loving care-givers, receive monthly in-service training and attend a minimum of 25 hours of professional growth each year.

Tuition 

Tuition at the Parent Child Center is reasonable. We are a cost recovery center and tuition is charged weekly through an ACH withdrawal. We accept Child Care Assistance through the state. Parents need to be pre-approved. Downoad Tuition Chart (PDF)

Infant/Toddler and 2 year old's are contracted on a full time basis only.

Curriculum

The PCC uses The Creative Curriculum® in all classrooms. This curriculum helps teachers plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program that promotes children's social-emotional development and learning in the core areas of literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies.

Nutrition

The center provides a morning snack, full hot lunch, and afternoon snack to all enrolled children. Meals and snacks are prepared on-site. All meals and snacks are well-balanced and high in nutrition. Weekly menus are carefully reviewed regularly by the Center Director, staff, and by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s Food & Nutrition Service to ensure nutritional content and variety.

Meals are served family-style with our staff joining the children at their tables. Children are encouraged to serve themselves and to try new foods. Table manners are taught by example, and ample time is allowed for socialization. This helps mealtime to be a happy, enjoyable experience.

Hours:
Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (year-round)
Closed the week of July 4
and between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
