Training Future Officers Focus of Police Week WBAY interviews FVTC about the future of the profession Friday, May 20, 2022 | By: Daley-Hinkens, Carmelyn M As part of National Police Week, much attention is being placed on the shortage of law enforcement officers. According to the Wisconsin Department of Justice, there are approximately 13,500 law enforcement officers across the state, making it the lowest number of officers in a decade. WBAY-TV recently interviewed Criminal Justice instructor Aaron Zemlock to get his perspective on why fewer individuals are choosing law enforcement as a profession. And, more importantly, what Fox Valley Technical College is doing to help students prepare for a successful career in criminal justice.
