Townley Named 2022 Student Ambassador

Townley Named 2022 Student Ambassador

| By: Britten, Casey

Congratulations to Anthony Townley, who has been named one of two Wisconsin Technical College System Co-Ambassadors for Fox Valley Technical College.

The 26-year-old is enrolled in the Legal Studies/Paralegal program and will serve as an advocate for Fox Valley Technical College by raising awareness about the importance of technical education.

He chose Fox Valley Technical College while living in Myanmar and working as a missionary and ESL teacher. Just days after a coup occurred, he decided he wanted to study law to help make the world a better place. “I needed to find a college that offered Paralegal classes online,” he says. “Taking online classes here at FVTC has been an eye-opening experience and has totally changed my perspective about online learning. My instructors are the best teachers I have had in my life.”

Originally from Delaware, Anthony relocated to Almond, Wisconsin in 2016. He traveled to Myanmar in 2017 where he met and married his wife Shwe Htet Htet Aung. They moved back to the United States in March 2022 and currently live in Maryland.

When Anthony graduates in May 2023, he plans to put his associate degree to work as a paralegal within a criminal/civil law office or focus on corporate law. “As I'm working as a paralegal, I will be transferring my credits to a four-year university to get my bachelor's degree so I can ultimately attend law school,” he says.

Kimberly Martin, a Wildland Firefighter and Natural Resource grad, is the other 2022 Co-Ambassador.
