Fox Valley Technical College is honored to help transport donations and supplies being collected locally to help the refugee crisis in Ukraine.

When the community group Wisconsin Ukrainians, Inc. reached out to Fox Valley Tech earlier this month for assistance, the college knew it was well-equipped to help out in the transportation area.

“We have a robust Transportation division and Truck Driving program that ensures our graduates and drivers will deliver goods between locations in a safe and efficient manner,” explains Dr. Jennifer Lanter, interim chief academic officer. “We are happy to have a dedicated Transportation staff and trucks to support the collection and transportation efforts of Wisconsin Ukrainians, Inc.”

An FVTC straight truck is being used to transport donations between a collection site in Green Bay and two drop-off points in the Milwaukee area. Due to the amazing level of community giving, FVTC staff and students are expected to drive this route several times during the next few weeks.

“FVTC is always open to building relationships with our community and beyond, says Rob Behnke, director of Truck Driving. “We have resources, and when connected to real-life learning opportunities, what better way for our students to learn than attaching it to the spirit of giving.”
