Why did you choose the Accounting career program?
A family member of mine was in severe debt, so I worked with them to reach financial freedom in the span of three and a half years. When the last of their debt was paid, I realized how much I enjoyed helping people reach their financial goals.
What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?
I learn something new in every class that I can apply to my personal life and help those around me. Money can be a major stressor and being able to navigate through it brings great potential to be the source of relief to those in financial trouble.
Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?
I chose FVTC because of the affordability and speed at which I can earn my degree.
How has Fox Valley Technical College helped you change your life?
FVTC has helped me grow tremendously in my self-confidence and professional development. I was encouraged to try new things and implement my ideas to help make a difference. Everything I have learned here is something I will be able to apply to my future profession.
What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?
I expect to find a full-time job doing entry-level accounting while I work on my bachelor's degree. Ultimately, I want to become a financial planner or a managerial accountant.
In one sentence, what's your best advice for someone who's not sure they're ready for college?
If you are uncertain you are ready for college, then work and gain some life experience so that you may find what interests you.
