Why did you choose the Vehicle Refinishing & Repair Technician career program?

I chose the Vehicle Refinishing & Repair program because I was interested in learning to not only fix cars but also paint them as well. I don't want my three daughters ever to have to ask anyone to fix their car; they can just come to dad!

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding? 

I’ve learned how fun it is to take a car apart, and also that you really have to pay attention to what you’re doing. It's teaching me to keep things more organized.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College? 

I decided to go to Fox Valley Tech to gain hands-on knowledge and to build a future for my family. Since starting school here, I've been happier and more detail-oriented. No matter how old you get, it's never too late to get an education.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation? 

First, I plan on getting a job in a shop detailing or painting, but eventually, I would love to own my own shop.

In one sentence, what's your best advice for someone who's not sure they're ready for college? 

Try it out! Don't be afraid. I promise you'll love it.
