2024 WTCS Student Ambassador Selected
Ashley Pagel will represent FVTC in the college system
Ashley Pagel has been named the 2024 Wisconsin Technical College System Ambassador for Fox Valley Technical College. In this role, Ashley will serve as a leader and advocate on behalf of the college in raising awareness about the importance of technical education in Wisconsin.
Ashley is a student in Foundations of Teacher Education associate degree program. She will graduate in December of 2024 and hopes to work as a substitute teacher within the Chilton School District.
Ashley says attending FVTC was an easy decision for her because of the location, ease of taking classes and the mode of learning that was offered. She credits everyone--from her instructors to staff in the Financial Aid office--with providing a smooth experience at FVTC. “Everyone has made me feel welcome, responded efficiently to questions that I have had, and never left me with more questions than what I approached them with.”
Outside of school, Ashley enjoys reading, spending quality time with family and friends, swimming, and being active in her church. She is involved with the Calumet County Fair where she’s a member of the Horse Promoters, a member of the Fairest of the Fair Committee, and serves as one of the Dairyland Superintendents. Dairyland is an interactive play area where children and fairgoers engage in agricultural educational activities.
Each spring, faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate a student for this opportunity. The criteria used for the nomination include academic excellence, commitment to leadership activities on campus and the ability to be an ambassador for the technical college system. All the 2024 FVTC ambassador nominees were recently honored at a banquet on the Appleton campus. They include:
- Troy Willems, Web Development and Design Specialist
- Sean Hogan, Mechanical Design Technology
- Zhay Thao, Fire Protection Technician
Congratulations, everyone!
