Why did you choose this career program?

I love figuring out how things work. Mechanical Design has taught me how so many things work internally and how to improve and create new things that work better.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

I love how many different career paths I have and how many different things I can do with my degree. I also find it very rewarding when a project is finally complete and I get to see how it has improved and made people’s lives easier.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?

I chose FVTC for many reasons, but the main reason is probably that FVTC is second in the country for my program. It’s also close to home, I was able to transfer credits from my high school, and the prices for classes are very reasonable compared to other colleges.

How has Fox Valley Technical College helped you change your life?

Fox Valley Technical College has helped me change the trajectory of my life by getting me involved with so many different clubs and building my leadership skills up from where they were in high school. It has prepared me for the real world and taught me so much about my degree.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?

I currently have an internship set up with Milwaukee Tool and I plan on possibly getting a full-time job there after my internship. I also may transfer to UW Oshkosh and get my bachelor’s degree.

In one sentence, what's your best advice for someone who's not sure they're ready for college?

I would say not to rush it, you can always take a break if you need to, and you'll know when you're ready.

Pro tip for newcomers trying to find their way around campus: The commons are the main hub of the college, if you get lost, find the Commons.
