Why did you choose Agribusiness Science and Technology program?

I have been active and passionate about agriculture my whole life. Growing up on a farm, it was a no-brainer for me to pursue agribusiness once it came time to choose a career. Through the Agribusiness Science and Technology program, I will be able to help farmers run successful businesses and it allows me to be an advocate with a better understanding of agricultural business operations.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

I am learning that the agriculture industry has many more unique career paths than I ever thought. There are so many diverse parts of agriculture that I have never before explored. The most rewarding part of this career field is being able to assist farms in creating a product that is safe and nutritious for consumers in an efficient manner.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?

The hands-on experience for students that FVTC offers were very appealing to me. Additionally, I was able to enroll in the "Start College Now" program, which allowed me to start my degree while I was still a senior in high school. Through this program, I am able to save money while getting a jumpstart in my future career.

How has Fox Valley Technical College helped you change your life?

Fox Valley Technical College has given me an opportunity that most high school students do not have. By the time I graduate high school, I will have completed the first year of my degree. I have been given a head start on something that I am truly passionate about.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?

The jobs that I expect to find after graduation are within the agronomy field and also the farm management side of agriculture. The areas that interest me the most are Agronomy Seed Sales and Dairy Marketing Companies.

In one sentence, what's your best advice for someone who's not sure they're ready for college?

The college you choose, especially Fox Valley Technical College, has resources to help you through any obstacle that you may face in the time that you are there.
