Why did you choose the Substance Use Disorder Counseling career program?

I have always had a passion for helping others. Being in the Substance Use Disorder Counseling program has and is still teaching me how to help individuals in ways that I never thought I would be able to.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

I am learning skills and theories that will help me to create my own style in counseling when I start to work with real-world clients have a better understanding of how to help them.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?

I chose Fox Valley Tech because I was also in the Starting Point 2.0 program (Starting Point 2.0 is a free skill-building program for women with young children) and they had so much to offer me as a parent of a small child. I started in my first semester shortly after finishing that program and haven't looked back since.

How has Fox Valley Technical College helped you change your life?

FVTC helped change my life by teaching me to believe in myself and realize there is no wrong time to go back to school to pursue something that you are passionate about.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?

I am hoping that I will be able to be at a facility helping individuals who struggle with substance use.

In one sentence, what's your best advice for someone who's not sure they're ready for college?

Believe in yourself!
