Why did you choose the Marketing career program?

I have always been interested in my uncle’s job in graphic design, so when I asked him what I should major in he suggested marketing. After a few classes, I realized how much I enjoy marketing.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

I am learning about how to interact with people and have in-depth conversations to figure out their interests and needs. I enjoy this because it can not only be used in a work setting but everyday life as well.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?

I chose FVTC because it was close to home and much more affordable compared to other schools. I also was not certain about marketing as a major at the time, so it was a good place to find out what I enjoy doing while saving money.

How has Fox Valley Technical College helped you change your life?

Fox Valley Tech has given me a place to be able to take my time and discover what I enjoy doing without the stress or rush to choose a major. Instead of just picking something because everyone says you should, I got the chance to explore and have fun. FVTC has also offered me the chance to intern here, which is giving me a huge amount of beneficial experience before I graduate.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?

Currently, I am working as a social media marketing intern for FVTC, which I enjoy and I hope to stay in the social media side of marketing. I love experimenting on the different platforms and learning new strategies.

In one sentence, what's your best advice for someone who's not sure they're ready for college?

Don't rush or stress yourself out, take a few classes at Fox Valley Tech and find what you are passionate about before jumping into anything and have fun with it!

Lightning Round!

Best on-campus place to study: In the commons near the Starbucks so you can refill every 10 minutes.

One class you surprisingly enjoyed: Sales principles.

One class that challenged you: All of the 9 a.m. classes.

One thing every FVTC student must experience on campus before graduating: The breakfast sandwiches!

Pro-tip for newcomers trying to find their way around campus: Keep a map in your pocket. Navigating doesn't get easier, I still get lost.
