Thrivent Partnership Highlighted
The college honored Thrivent Financial and the Thrivent Financial Foundation with its spring 2018 Community Partnership award during Fox Valley Technical College’s Board of Trustees meeting in March.
Angela Creel, vice president, enterprise human resources at Thrivent, accepted the award on behalf of other company officials in attendance. FVTC’s Board President Dr. Nick Madison cited several highlights of the longstanding partnership between the two organizations. Notable collaborations include Thrivent providing work experience for FVTC interns and hiring the college’s graduates, company employees serving on college advisory committees, and support of the FVTC Foundation’s Promise program by establishing a two-year grant to fund a coach for Adult Basic Education students and more to help remove barriers to learning.
Most recently during Thrivent’s fall employee giving campaign, the company contributed goods to FVTC’s student food pantry and financial support toward the college’s Seeds of Hope fund. Seeds of Hope helps students deal with family and personal emergencies, in addition to related unexpected circumstances.
Thrivent looks to FVTC’s Business and Industry Services team as well to develop employee skill sets in several areas. The company’s senior counsel was instrumental in the development of the college’s Paralegal associate degree program, exemplifying a partnership that thrives on shared resources.
