Why did you choose this career program?

I decided to study Natural Resources because I am happiest when I am out in nature. I feel as though you should choose a career path in which you truly enjoy what you do every day.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

A career in the Natural Resources field is fulfilling not just for you, but also for the environment and all its inhabitants. Contributing to the health of the planet brings the rewarding knowledge that you’re helping to preserve the beauty of nature for future generations.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?

I love the fact that I can earn my degree in just two years while receiving a personalized, hands-on education close to home.

How has Fox Valley Technical College helped you change your life?

Fox Valley Tech has shown me that it doesn’t matter what route you take in life as long as it is true to who you are. Following your dreams may look different for everyone, but at FVTC, the instructors, advisors and staff are dedicated to helping you reach your goals, no matter what they may be.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?

Like many others, I do not 100% know what my dream job is or what position I will be applying for directly after graduation, and that is okay! As long as I have my degree and the skills I’ve acquired from FVTC, I know I will fall into the perfect job for me. There are so many routes within Natural Resources, and speaking from experience until you try different avenues, you won’t fully know what job is the right fit for you.

What's your best advice for someone who's not sure they're ready for college?

The best advice I can give for someone unsure if college is the right choice for them is.… you don’t know until you try.

Lightning Round!

Best on-campus place to study: Outside, fresh air is always great for thinking!

One class you surprisingly enjoyed: Biology, it was one of my GenEds but I loved the hands on labs..

One class that challenged you: Economics.… another GenEd but nonetheless useful.

One thing every FVTC student must experience on campus before graduating: A walk through the campus nature trail.

Pro tip for newcomers trying to find their way around campus: Don’t be afraid to ask for help! Staff is there to help you.
