Why did you choose this career program?

I'm still young and I'm not sure what I want to do for a career. Marketing and Business Management offer many opportunities for growth and development, so I can find a way to pursue something I'm passionate about, regardless of how the world changes.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

I've really enjoyed learning about and creating social media posts. I've also enjoyed the communications and writing classes I've taken.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?

I was going to drop out of high school when I was offered a spot in the QUEST program here at Fox Valley Tech. I completed my GED a few weeks after my 17th birthday, and I started college the next semester with the free credits offered through the program. With encouragement from my mom and the staff at FVTC I decided to continue my education.

How has Fox Valley Technical College helped you change your life?

FVTC is the reason I was able to get my GED and continue to higher education instead of dropping out of high school. By working with my schedule and limitations, I was able to find personal, professional and academic success. It has truly been life-changing.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?

I'm not sure, the job market is constantly changing, so I'll see what's calling to me when the time comes. I hope to find a way to leverage my skills to make a positive difference in my community.

What’s your best advice for someone who’s not sure they’re ready for college?

Everyone at FVTC wants you to succeed, and once you're in that kind of environment, the only real barrier is your mind.
