Eleven students from the Interior Design program are applying their skills once again at the Paine Art Center and Garden’s Rooms of Blooms gallery of floral designs, going on March 1-11.

Room of Blooms features more than 100 artistic fresh floral creations by the most talented local designers. Several activities complement the nearly two-week showcase, which highlights a plethora of both individual and organizational displays. Our Interior Design students designed and built a tablescape arrangement under the direction of instructor Joan Jarvi.

Their table is a combination of traditional and contemporary styles. The two brown chairs and dinnerware represent a contemporary look, while the two wicker chairs, floral pot, and props bare a traditional ambiance. The flowers are mostly of the traditional nature, arranged in a contemporary asymmetrical style with splashes of yellow and blue. The table, chairs, dinnerware, and props are kept in a subtle monochromatic theme of brown and white, so the main focus is on the flowers.

Two years ago during the last Rooms of Bloom exhibit, FVTC’s Interior Design department won a People’s Choice award. This year’s students involved in the beautiful tablescape are:

Melissa Fellinger
Jayden Handschke
Jasna Kaurin
Cassandra Littlefield
Hollan Miller
Mindie Overbeck
Christy Phan
Mckenna Post
Brianna Pritzl
Jennifer Verwiel
Molly Westphal

Congratulations!
