FVTC Natural Resources team wins charitable dodgeball tournament
Members of the FVTC Natural Resources Club added some new hardware to the program’s showcase window. A shiny gold cup trophy represents the team’s championship run at the Neenah Rotary’s inaugural dodgeball tournament.
The team of eight players—with team manager assistance from another student—signed up for the tournament with a financial assist from the FVTC Foundation, which paid the sponsorship entry fee.
Competing against 14 other teams in their age group, the players dodged, ducked and jumped their way to victory. As champions, they were given a cash prize and the coveted trophy.
Area youth will also win big because of this tournament. Approximately $10,000 was raised during the event. The money will help cover equipment expenses and entry fees for area children who’d like to participate in extra-curricular activities, but may not be able to due to expense. The proceeds will help pay for such things as basketball, football and soccer shoes, and entry fees for sports and other activities like band and choir.
