Culinary Grad’s Skills on Global Stage
Culinary Arts graduate Laura Johnson-Lachowecki earned second place in the Pastry Queen competition in Rimini, Italy as part of Team USA.
The 2012 graduate and New London native was also recognized at the event with a special award for technical skills and cleanliness as it relates to food preparation. The Pastry Queen is held every two years and is regarded as the highest caliber professional skills competition involving pastry prominence on an international level.
Johnson-Lachowecki is a 2015 national pastry champion through the American Culinary Federation.
