Agriculture Students Shine at State and National PAS Conferences

FVTC Agriculture program students were the big winners at two agricultural student competitions, bringing home top prizes at both the state and national level.
The path to victory began in early March at the 2025 Wisconsin Professional Agricultural Student (PAS) State Competitive Events Conference in Wisconsin Dells. Instructors Justin Wege, Brittany Jashinsky, Jason Fischer and Sarah Mills-Lloyd guided 21 students as they competed in individual and team events challenging them to use classroom knowledge in real-world agricultural scenarios.
“It’s an opportunity to grow, connect with peers and professionals, and build confidence in their future careers,” explains Sarah Mills-Lloyd, department chair of Horticulture & Farm Operations.
In addition to competing, FVTC students attended networking events, built leadership skills and practiced written and oral communication in professional settings. Their success at the state level paved the way for 18 students to compete nationally.
