Jason Weber, Kimberly, was named recipient of the 2014 Fox Valley Technical College Outstanding Alumni of the Year award. The annual award recognizes an FVTC graduate who has demonstrated the value of technical education through career advancement, community service, continued personal and educational growth, and support of the Wisconsin Technical College System.

Weber serves as community liaison officer for the Town of Menasha Police Department and is a 1990 graduate of FVTC’s then-named Police Science program and a completer of the college’s Law Enforcement Academy.

His 24 years of experience in law enforcement has included the development of a pharmaceutical abuse prevention initiative called Good Drugs Gone Bad and the co-production of three public service announcements on prescription drug abuse that have aired on local television and in movie theaters. In addition, Weber has authored two books, Bridging the Past with the Future—Town of Menasha Sesquicentennial (2005) and A Village with a Future—Kimberly Centennial (2010).

The Wisconsin Clearinghouse for Prevention Resources recognized Weber in 2010 with the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Partner of the Year award, and that same year he earned the Wisconsin Crime Prevention Practitioner of the Year distinction from the Wisconsin Crime Prevention Practitioners Association.

Weber will receive the award on Sunday, May 18 at FVTC’s annual spring commencement ceremony in Oshkosh.

Congratulations, Jason, on behalf of all FVTC alumni who make a difference in our community!
