Romanian Leaders Study Entrepreneurship at FVTC

| By: Daley-Hinkens, Carmelyn M

The FVTC Venture Center welcomes five Romanian professors this week to explore Wisconsin's diverse world of entrepreneurship.

The Entrepreneurship faculty at Babes-Bolyai University located in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, are visiting as part of the Congressional Office of International Leadership’s Open World Program, an agency of the U.S. Congress.

The delegation is spending the week learning about Wisconsin’s entrepreneurship ecosystems, higher education resources for entrepreneurs, start-ups and small business owners, social media and tourism.

Their itinerary included touring the FVTC campus and learning more about the Venture Center’s E-seed Express Entrepreneurship Training and they met with local leaders in the Fox Valley and the New North Region. The ambitious agenda also included traveling to Oshkosh and Milwaukee to tour small and medium-sized businesses, plus the group visited the polls to observe Election Day in Wisconsin and will tour Lambeau Field before they depart this weekend.

The Open World Program is a U.S. exchange opportunity that promotes legislative diplomacy efforts for Members of Congress by conducting exchanges with educators and leaders in countries like Russia, Ukraine, the Balkans, Caucasus, Central Asia and Eastern Europe. Participants are exposed to the work of Congress, American politics, and volunteerism while being home-hosted by American families.
