WLUK Fox 11 Co-Anchor Mark Leland won the 2019 Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) District Boards Association Media Award for his exemplary coverage on addressing a pilot shortage. Nominated by Fox Valley Technical College, Leland received the award during the Association’s spring banquet in Fond du Lac. The annual recognition highlights a media partner’s story that brings to life the value of technical education and its critical role in generating economic development while growing quality of life in Wisconsin. Leland’s segment first aired on November 14, 2018, and featured the college’s growing Aeronautics-Pilot Training program. The WTCS is comprised of 16 technical colleges.
