Ntuhkem Fonkem has been named the 2023 Wisconsin Technical College System Ambassador for Fox Valley Technical College. In this role, Ntuhkem will serve as a leader and advocate on behalf of the college in raising awareness about the importance of technical education in Wisconsin.

Ntuhkem came from Southwest Cameroon and started at FVTC in the fall of 2022. She is a student in the college’s IT Cybersecurity Specialist program and expects to graduate in the spring of 2024. She is an advocate for the college and has become a role model for other students both domestic and international. She actively participates in many clubs and serves on several boards. She also works with the Global Education department to welcome new international students by giving tours around campus, explaining how to navigate the Valley Transit bus system and tips for settling in at the Tech Village apartments.

Each spring, faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate a student for this opportunity. The criteria used for the nomination include academic excellence, commitment to leadership activities on campus and the ability to be an ambassador for the technical college system. All of the 2023 FVTC ambassador nominees were recently honored at a banquet on the Appleton campus. They include:

  • Lucie Panhia Vue, Human Resources
  • Jessica Roberson, Accounting
  • Sara Stansbury, IT Cybersecurity Specialist
  • Vanessa Hanagan, Early Childhood Education

Congratulations, everyone!
