Why did you choose the Nursing - RN Associate Degree career program?
After taking a few Medical Assistant courses as a Start College Now student during my senior year of high school, I knew I wanted to do something in healthcare. I wasn’t sure at first what I wanted to do in this field, but I realized that I wanted a job more directly involved in patient care and found the nursing program. I am thankful that I did because I love it!
What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?
I love the clinical component of the nursing program. We get to care for actual patients in real hospitals and nursing homes. These experiences give me amazing opportunities to learn hands-on and function like a real nurse.
Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?
I came to FVTC because it was close to home and very affordable. I stayed at FVTC because of the amazing teachers, student jobs, high-quality hands-on instruction, and so much more.
How has Fox Valley Technical College helped you change your life?
FVTC has helped me find a career that I'm passionate about and has given me the training I need to excel at it. FVTC helps students succeed in the real world, not just a classroom.
What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?
I would love to work as a nurse in a rural hospital or clinic, preferably in pediatrics or mental health.
In one sentence, what's your best advice for someone who's not sure they're ready for college?
There are so many resources available to help you succeed at FVTC. Make sure you look into them all!
