Why did you choose this career program?

I chose to study Automotive Technology because it is an industry with endless opportunities. The skills I learned in automotive repair will always be useful to me.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding? 

I learned that many issues with newer vehicles are related to the emissions system. It is rewarding to be able to help customers keep their cars reliable and in good mechanical condition.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College? 

I chose Fox Valley Technical College because they have a great automotive program. Some general education classes are offered online, allowing for a more flexible schedule for students.

How has Fox Valley Technical College helped you change your life?

Fox Valley Technical College helped change my life by preparing me for challenges I might face early in my career. FVTC has also helped me become more confident in my work.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation? 

After graduation, I expect to continue working as a technician at a local independent automotive repair facility. This will include diagnosing issues with customers' cars as well as performing routine maintenance.

What's your best advice for someone who's not sure they're ready for college? 

College learning is an investment in yourself; there's never a bad time to do that.
