Around 3,000 visitors once again marveled at the nation’s premiere public safety training facility during our second annual Public Safety Day. Onlookers got a close-up view of many different training props and simulated technologies at Fox Valley Technical College’s Public Safety Training Center (PSTC) during the free family event on August 19.
This year’s demonstrations included a horse-led search and rescue, SWAT team, auto extraction, water rescue scenario, tactical fire training activity, and more. The event offered something for all ages and welcomed the participation of several local public safety agencies.
The PSTC opened in 2015 as the centerpiece project of Fox Valley Technical College’s successful public referendum in 2012. It’s compromised of more than 75 acres of training innovations for law enforcement, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, and more. Public safety practitioners from around the world use the center each year as a best practices resource.
Special thanks to Community First Credit Union for sponsoring this year’s Public Safety Day.
