Message from the College President

Dear Students,

Thank you for your patience and your willingness to work through all of the additional challenges we face with living, working, and learning during this pandemic.

There are two primary areas of focus for our college right now: 1) the health and safety of you our students, our employer customers, and our staff, and 2) doing everything we possibly can to assist you in achieving your educational goals.

This summer and fall we will offer a robust number of on-line courses and hope that you will take full advantage of the convenience of those offerings. We recognize that virtual learning may not be desirable or best for everyone, but I would encourage you to push yourself to accomplish something you may not have thought possible. Our staff will do everything they can to help you along the way.

As we continue to gradually resume targeted in-person classes (particularly lab and hands-on training), you will find yourself in a more highly controlled environment than usual with an emphasis on small groups, distancing, protective equipment, and frequent disinfecting protocols. All of this is being done for everyone’s safety and we expect that you will support and comply with these requirements to slow the spread of the coronavirus in our community. We understand that these conditions may not be ideal, but are very necessary.

Being able to adapt to change is one of the essential skills employers look for, especially now. You can work on that skill and develop your level of resilience in your time with us. If you’re not able to work right now or working fewer hours than you’d like, make good use of that time by adding to your credentials and skills – take an additional course, perhaps complete a certificate, or make progress toward completing your degree. Be even better prepared when the economy begins to recover and new opportunities become available.

Continue to be safe and well this summer!

Dr. Susan A. May
