Jill McEwen oversees Fox Valley Technical College’s human resources and facilities and operations functions. Human resources encompasses payroll, compensation, benefits, risk management, employee relations, labor relations, and organizational and staff development. Facilities and operations encompasses mechanical, structural, electrical, custodial, vehicle maintenance grounds, mail, and shipping and receiving services. It also includes capital project planning, remodeling and renovation projects, new construction, and leases.
McEwen joined Fox Valley Technical College as Director – Human Resources in 2000. She was promoted to Vice President – Human Resources in February 2004 and Vice President – Administrative Services in August 2006. Prior to joining the College, McEwen spent over ten years in human resource positions in the private sector. The companies included Schneider National, Miller Electric Manufacturing, Hobart Brothers Company, and Northern States Power Company.
McEwen has been active in the Fox Valley Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, serving as president in 2006. She is a recent graduate of Leadership Fox Cities, and serves on the United Way Fox Cities Strengthening Families Impact Area.
McEwen completed her bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She earned a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota in Human Resource Development and a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Human Resources and Labor Relations. She holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
