Dr. Christopher Matheny currently serves as Vice President for Instructional Services at Fox Valley Technical College. His areas of responsibility include academic administration of the College’s general studies division, manufacturing, transportation, construction, agriculture, and printing technologies, as well as the information technology programs, global education & services, college effectiveness, business & industry services, instructional development & delivery, and college marketing.
Matheny joined Fox Valley Technical College as Vice President of Student Services in 2004. He was promoted to Vice President for Student & Community Development in June 2008 and has served as Interim Vice President and Chief Academic Officer since January 2010. Prior to joining the College, Matheny served in various student services roles at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL. Matheny’s career also includes work with students through IIT Federal Services Corporation and at DePaul University.
Active in the community, Matheny has served on several planning committees, is a member of the Community Health Action Team (CHAT), the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board, has served as an adjunct instructor at Lakeland College, and is a past Board member for the Fox Cities Rotary Multicultural Center.
Matheny received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from DePaul University, Chicago, IL, and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
