Amy Van Straten oversees Fox Valley Technical College’s Financial Services area. This encompasses all general accounting operations as well as budget, financial reporting, procurement, accounts payable, grant accounting, and student financials.
Van Straten started her accounting career at the public accounting firm Wipfli Ullrich Bertelson LLP in Wausau. From 1997 until 2003, she worked at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans (formerly Aid Association for Lutherans) in Appleton, where she held various positions in the Controller’s Department. She joined Fox Valley Technical College in 2003 as General Accounting Manager. She was promoted to Controller in 2005, to Director of Federal Program Shared Operational Services in 2006, and to CFO in 2008. She is an active community volunteer, chairs the College’s United Way Campaign, and is a member of the United Way’s Emerging Leaders program.
A native of Kewaunee, Wisconsin, Van Straten received her Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and is currently pursuing her MBA. She is a licensed CPA and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
