Operations Management

The *APICS Principles of Operations Management* program has five customizable courses that are classroom-based and instructor-led for individuals new to materials and operations management. In addition to the standard course content, the sessions can be tailored into stand-alone mini-courses or can be combined with other principles course sessions to create a customized learning experience.
The series is customizable for new entrants into the field, up to participants who may have some secondary school training. Some basic comfort with mathematics is helpful. Basic knowledge of formulas and their manipulation is an asset. Theoretical or practical business experience may also enhance the learning process and experience.

    **Principles of Managing Operations**
    The goal of this course is to impart a functional knowledge and understanding of the systems, technologies, and process management tools involved in designing and operating the manufacturing and distribution environment. This course is concerned with the design of systems to produce goods and services and the operation of those systems.

    **Principles of Distribution & Logistics**
    The goal of this course is to introduce the foundations of planning and control in distribution and logistics. They will also participate in the use of distribution priority and capacity planning techniques.

  • Target Audience
