What is Wisconsin Supermileage @ FVTC?
This project involves middle and high school students building a
concept vehicle with the goal of achieving ultra-high fuel economy. Vehicles
in the "gas" classes will compete in four engine classes: Briggs Stock, Open Stock, Modified. and
Unlimited. Electrically powered vehicles in the WI Electrathon portion of the challenge will have three classes to compete in. The challenge to the students is to design a vehicle around
an engine, gas or electric, which will achieve the highest fuel economy or endurance possible. This
project encourages students to practice creative problem-solving skills
in a team atmosphere. It also helps students build awareness of
technology, trades, and the efficient use of fossil fuels and alternative propulsion options. Don't miss
out on this great learning experience!
