Dr. Jack Rhodes is a community member of the Board from Waupaca.  He earned his BA at the University of South Dakota in 1963 and his Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Texas in Austin in 1966.

Dr. Rhodes has 36 years of experience in college and university teaching and administration. He subsequently taught at Colorado College, University of Utah, and Miami University in Ohio, where he served as Chair of the Department of Communication and then as Executive Director of Miami's regional campus in Hamilton, OH, until his retirement in 2002.

Jack founded the Waupaca Area Community Foundation in 2003 and was board chair from 2003-2014.  He finished his term as Vice Chair in September 2015 and began a new term on the WACF Board in 2016.  He currently serves on the Foundation Board of the Wisconsin Historical Society.  He is a past member of the FVTC Board of Trustees from 2004-2010.  During that time he held the Vice Chair officer position (2005-06) and was Chair from 2006-08.  He also served on the Board of the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region (2007-2015) and was CFFVR Board Chair 2013-2014.  Jack has also been on the Riverside Medical Center Foundation Board and the Director of Waupaca Duplicate Bridge Club.

He is the author of three books and several scholarly articles and has recently concentrated his research and lecturing on the rhetoric of film genres.  Jack is currently teaching Björklunden seminars, which he began teaching in 2009.

Jack and his wife, Glenda, reside in Waupaca.
