Skills Assessment
An academic skills assessment is required for admission into this program or the following: High School GPA of 2.75 or higher (last 10 years) OR provide completion of associate’s or higher degree OR; 165 or higher on your 2014 series GED tests OR; ACT OR SAT OR Accuplacer OR Companion OR Compass (last 3 years) to waive to the general education level; The cost of the Accuplacer assessment is $15; Catalog #: 94100100; Learn more at www.fvtc.edu/Assessment.
High School Transcript
Submit a final, official high school transcript or an official copy of GED/HSED certification scores. Current high school students must submit an official in-progress transcript and a final official transcript after graduation..

Prior to program admission, you must complete a tour and a program overview session, and should review the program guides at www.fvtc.edu/AviationProgramGuide and schedule your tour and program overview, contact Peyton at (920) 735-5790.
Verification of Citizenship
Submit official United States Citizenship Documents to a College representative at the SJ Spanbauer Center.; Accepted documents include: United States Passport, OR An Official Birth Certificate and Driver’s License, OR Certificate of Naturalization and Driver’s License; Please review Aeronautics Programs Admissions Process Guide for specific submission directions.
Student Pilot Certificate App
Submit an application to complete your Student Pilot Certificate Application in IACRA; Follow the steps as outlined with the Aeronautics Programs Admissions Process Guide to successfully complete; If you currently hold a Pilot Certificate, please see next step for submission of Pilot Certificate.
Student Pilot Certificate
Once you receive your official Student Pilot/Current Pilot Certificate, present your signed card to a college representative at the SJ Spanbauer Center; Please refer to the Aeronautics Programs Admissions Process Guide for submission directions.
Pilot Declaration and Intent
You must complete the Declaration & Aeronautics Pilot Intent form in the Admissions Process Guide; (www.fvtc.edu/AviationProgramGuide) and submit to a representative at the SJ Spanbauer Center
Request NSO
After you have successfully completed all of the items in Phase I (aeronautics tour & program overview, declaration & aeronautics pilot intent form, transcripts, skills assessment, citizenship documentation & student pilot certificate application), send your request to Peyton at peyton.buerman7479@fvtc.edu indicating you have completed all of the necessary tasks; IMPORTANT: to minimize delays in receiving an invite to the New Student Orientation, do not email a request until every step is complete)
Pilot Orientation
Attend a required pilot new student orientation session; You must have all of your admissions items up to this point submitted to a SJ Spanbauer Representative; You may not register for the Pilot Student Success Workshop without these documents.
Student Success Workshop
Online Blackboard course: please note all students will be enrolled into this course after attending the New Student Orientation.

This program may require professional licensure or certification; FVTC has determined that this program meets professional licensure requirements in the state of Wisconsin; however, FVTC has not determined if this program meets professional licensure requirements for other states.
For official Part-141 FAA Enrollment, students will be required to successfully complete the steps outlined within Phase II of the Aeronautics Program Admissions Process Guide. Students who do not meet these requirements successfully will be considered ineligible to move forward.
1st or 2nd Class FAA Medical Certificate: Obtain a 1st or 2nd Class FAA Medical Certificate and present it to a college representative at the S.J. Spanbauer Center. Students are required to have a 1st or 2nd Class FAA Medical Certificate that has been issued within the last 12 calendar months that has been approved by an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME). A 3rd Class FAA Medical Certificate is NOT acceptable. Please review the Aeronautics Program Admissions Process Guide for more details, how to schedule a medical and how to properly submit your 1st or 2nd Class FAA Medical Certificate to the college.
FAA Equipment Verification: Purchase all of the items from the Required Resource List (this will be emailed to you after you have successfully completed Phase I and have earned a seat on the Flight Ready List). Once you have all of your items, make a request to complete an FAA Equipment Verification. To schedule, contact Eric Mandel (920-236-6102 or eric.mandel3585@fvtc.edu).

Transfer Flight Students Only: If you will be transferring a flight certificate or rating into FVTC, you will be required to successfully complete a Credit for Prior Learning Assessment (Transfer Check Ride) once an FVTC Representative contacts you from the Flight Ready List. Once contacted, please contact Eric Mandel (920-236-6102 or eric.mandel3585@fvtc.edu) to schedule. Pilot proficiency may lead to additional flight training costs.
