This program may require professional licensure or certification; FVTC has determined that this program meets professional licensure requirements in the state of Wisconsin; however, FVTC has not determined if this program meets professional licensure requirements for other states.

The "Monster Shop" Outdoor Power Equipment Technician program is a partnership between Fox Valley Technical College, Ariens, Briggs and Stratton, Snap-On Tools and Stihl.

Snap-On Tools provides the top graduate with a cordless impact wrench and offers all students a 50% savings on tool purchases. Ariens, Briggs & Stratton and Stihl each provide students with new equipment and instructional aids for learning current technology.

Tools and supplies are provided; however, you must purchase your own safety glasses and "Monster Shop" uniforms.

This program is now available as a **part-time option**. You can work for your employer during the day and take lab & online classes in the evening. It’s a flexible & convenient way to get the skills you need for a great career in Outdoor Power Equipment.

Accreditation

This program is certified by the Equipment and Engine Training Council (EETC) and is a testing agent for the technician certification. As a graduate, you can become a certified technician in four stroke engines, two stroke engines, compact diesels, generators, drivelines/hydro and electrical systems.

Credit Transfer Options

Whether you’re an incoming student, transferring to another two-year college or pursuing your bachelor’s degree, we make it easy for you to seamlessly transfer your credits. With full accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission, we offer credit transfer agreements with more than 65 two-and four-year colleges.

Transfer In

Many students come to Fox Valley Tech with credits they’ve already earned, either while in high school or at other colleges and universities. It’s also possible to be granted credit for career-related knowledge and skills you’ve already mastered.

Transfer Out

Is a four-year degree in your future? Save time and money by starting here. You can earn your associate degree at Fox Valley Tech, then apply your credits toward a bachelor’s degree. Or easily transfer your credits to other two-year colleges.
